So I didn’t realize this was happening until I turned around and saw 20 people aiming cell phone cameras west down 17th street. And I didn’t realize it was Manhattanhenge until today. And wouldn’t have taken this grainy a picture if my sister hadn’t reminded me I was holding her camera. I’d like to think it’s because I live in the moment.
Basically, twice a year, in May and June, the sun sets in such a way that it lines up with Manhattan’s east-west grid. Ridiculously pretty.
